Meet Our Pastors

Pastor Roger W. Pierce

Roger-Pierce2
A Texan by birth, I was called to Christian ministry in the early 1960s. With a BA in Journalism, I enrolled in Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University, having been ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). After a brief pastorate in Dallas, I entered the US Navy in 1971 as a Chaplain and retired from active duty in 1992. During those years I attended Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington DC for the Doctor of Ministry and the University of Maryland for post graduate work in Educational Management. After 5 years in Texas as a pastor, I was called to my denomination’s national office to become Vice President of the Division of Homeland Ministries where I directed Evangelism and Church Growth for the denomination. I moved to Tucson in late 2000 and was employed as a Chaplain with a local hospice for four years, then was invited to join the Pastoral Team at Community Church in SaddleBrooke. My wife, Sue, and I have been married almost 48 years and we have three grown children who have blessed us with three grandchildren and one “great” granddaughter.
